The Williamson County Astronomy Club offers meeting programs covering subjects of interest to both armchair astronomers and observers alike.  Listed here is a sampling of our past meeting programs.

January 3, 2019

"Filters -- Use In Astronomy"
Club Members Pete Wehner and David Ault will discuss the use of filters in astronomy today. Filters for both visual use and photographic use will be covered including how to choose a filter for your desired observational target.

February 7, 2019

"Electronically Assisted Astronomy"
Club Member Jeff Foreman will cover the ins and outs of Electronically Assisted Astronomy (EAA). EAA has become very popular in recent years due to several factors. The ever-increasing light pollution in our skies drives many of the needs and the rise of new very sensitive cameras offers a partial solution. Using a sensitive camera to view faint deep sky objects in real time opens up new options for amateur astronomers.

"String Telescopes and Tensegrity"
Gregory Rohde will discuss the principals behind String Telescopes. Tensegrity telescopes are designed to use strings in tension and rods in compression. Such construction results is very light weight, stiff structures perfect for telescope designs.
